Friday Night, April 19: 

 

  • 6:30pm Shabbat candlelighting  
  • 6:45pm Kabbalat Shabbat Services led by the Maccabeats a-capella   
  • 7:30pm Shabbat dinner  
  • Dinner Lecture Presentation by Rabbi Shais Taub: 'Love Without Pain' : Exploring the real reasons we get hurt in relationships and how we might free ourselves from repeating mistakes. (Lecture followed by discussions)

 

 

Saturday April 20:

 

  • 10am Shabbat services led by the Maccabeats  
  • 1pm Shabbat Kiddush Lunch
    Dessert Lecture Presentation by Rabbi Shais Taub: 'Faith versus Fantasy': Are belief and intelligence complimentary or mutuallyBIO exclusive? How can a thinking person understand the role of spirituality in day-to-day life? 
  • 3pm Breakout Sessions with options including:  

 

*Q & A with the Maccabeats: Meet the famed a-capella group whose music-videos and songs have rocked the Jewish music scene. Ask questions, get answers and get to know the singers behind the music. 

 

*Intergenerational Trauma and the 5th Commandment: Why it's so difficult to honor our parents and waht that says about our own spiritual growth.

 

*Ask the Rabbi: Meet Rabbis from around Midwest Chabad on Campus's. Ask questions, get answers, and round-table discussions on Judaism.

 

 

  • 7pm Light Dinner and roundtable sing-along kumzitz with the Maccabeats featuring traditional Shabbat songs and ending off with a havdalah service. 

 

 

*This special weekend of events is planned for Chabad on Campus's from around the Midwest, and we are happy to open and invite registration to our local C-U Jewish community as well. 

*All events will take place at Illini Chabad huge banquet tent unlesss otherwise noted
