This scholarship is offered to students who take part in strengthening Jewish Life at Illinois. The more active one is, the better the chances of becoming a Chabad Heerey Scholar. Minimum participation to become a Scholar is joining 2 morning Shacharit services (it takes place at Chabad at 8:00am weekdays and 9:00am on Sundays), and join either a Lunch 'n Learn (Wednesdays at 12pm) or a Cholent 'n Chill (Thursdays at 7pm) per week. There will be a lavish breakfast following morning Shacharit each day. This is all about YOU! Here to help YOU! Once you are notified you are a Scholar, your input and vision will create the future of this exciting new Scholarship Program. The Bernard Heerey Family Foundation encourages Jewish students at UIUC to regularly attend daily minyanim at both Illini Chabad and Illini Hillel, and this semester is funding a similar scholarship program with each of them. The Foundation is pleased to offer you the choice of applying to become a Heerey Scholar and receive a $2,000 UIUC tuition scholarship for this semester through either program. For the sole purpose of ensuring that no student receives scholarships through both programs this semester, the Foundation will be receiving from each organization the names of all the pending Heerey Scholars to whom it intends to award such scholarships.
