Illini Chabad is most pleased to offer the Bernard Heerey Family Foundation Scholarship for the 2024 Fall semester. This scholarship is aimed at enhancing Jewish life, learning and practice at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign through participation and learning.
The Bernard Heerey Family Foundation Scholarship recipients will commit to be a part of Jewish learning and and Jewish life. The Bernard Heerey Scholars will help lead and support Jewish prayer, Jewish learning and Jewish practice on campus at the University of Illinois.
The scholarship fund will grant multiple $2,000 tuition scholarships each semester. Students must be enrolled at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (or accepted their admission if they are incoming UIUC students). The scholarships will be paid directly to the University of Illinois’ student tuition accounts. Students will be able to re-apply for scholarship renewal the following semester and will be considered if they fulfilled their commitment in the prior semester.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Student must be willing to commit to regularly attending Jewish prayer services and Jewish learning sessions on campus.
- Must be enrolled at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
Timeline:
- Applications for Fall Semester 2024 may be submitted any time until August 10, 2024 and will be considered on a rolling basis.
- Prospective students who have been accepted for admission to UIUC are welcome to apply on a contingent basis.
- Interviews for the scholarship will be set after receipt of the application.
- Scholarship awardees will receive notification within a month of the application submission.
